Decaffeinated Peru MWP is an organic coffee from Peru that has been decaffeinated using the Mountain Water Process. This method removes caffeine using pure alkaline mountain water and filtration, without chemicals, which helps to preserve the coffee’s natural flavor. The beans are gently soaked to draw out caffeine, which is then filtered away, while most of the flavor compounds remain intact.
This organic decaf coffee comes from northern Peru, in the San Ignacio region of Cajamarca near the Ecuadorian border. It’s grown at high elevations by small family farms and brought together through the CENFROCAFÉ cooperative, which supports thousands of producers. The coffee is a blend of several varieties grown between 1,250–1,800 meters and is fully washed and sun-dried, giving it a clean, balanced profile.The result is a classic, easy-drinking cup: smooth, chocolatey, and clean, with low acidity and a medium body. While the acidity stays mild, light floral tones appear at the beginning, adding a bit of brightness and balance to the cup.
